Elite Eight

We’re getting down to it now.  Fairly typical Round of 16, some great games, some great finishes and some blowouts.  I went 5-3 in picks, so, not too bad.

There’s an interesting mix in these eight teams playing today and tomorrow: you have three traditional powers (Kentucky, UNC, Kansas) with 15 national titles between them; you have three, relatively-new-to-success programs (Arizona, Florida and UConn) with 5 of the last 14 national titles between them; and, as always, two Cinderellas, Butler and VCU.

My rooting interests are with the two underdogs, Kentucky and UConn, but here’s how I see the games:

Saturday

  • Florida over Butler
  • Arizona over UConn

Sunday

  • Kansas over VCU
  • Kentucky over UNC
